Yoga Nidra with Aoife B

Yoga Nidra is the practice of deep relaxation. In this class we learn how to relax consciously, allowing the complete release of physical, mental and emotional tensions. 

We do this lying down comfortably on the mat with eyes closed, while listening to the teachers voice guiding you through the practice. We begin the class with some gentle stretches to make sure the body will be completely comfortable before moving into savasana (corpse pose), where we spend the majority of the class. Here you’ll allow the teachers voice to guide you through the different stages of the practice, connecting into your body, your breath, feeling different sensations and visualisations to return yourself to harmony.

Yoga nidra helps settle the nervous system to allow the body to move out of the ‘fight or flight’ response and into the ‘rest and digest’ state. This allows tensions in the physical body, mind and emotional body to relax. After 1 hour of yoga nidra you can feel as restful as if you’ve had a 4 hour nap!

Who: All levels are welcome in this class, no previous experience is required!

Price: €75 for 6 week term or €15 drop in where available.
