The hidden meaning of our new Logo

People have been asking why I have chosen the humble Dandelion has part of the new logo and website design.
I think below explains beautifully what we, at River Holistic believe and strive for, for all of our clients.

What Does the Dandelion Flower Mean?
The common and humble Dandelion has a surprising amount of different meanings. The Dandelion means:

Healing from emotional pain and physical injury alike.
Intelligence, especially in an emotional and spiritual sense.
The warmth and power of the rising sun.
Surviving through all challenges and difficulties.
Long lasting happiness and youthful joy.
Getting your wish fulfilled.
Since the Dandelion can thrive in difficult conditions, it is no wonder that people say the flower symbolizes the ability to rise above life’s challenges.

What Is Holistic Health?

Holistic Health is an approach to life. Rather than focusing on illness or specific parts of the body, this ancient approach to well-being considers the whole person and how he or she, via their life-style, interacts with their environment. Holistic Health emphasizes the connection of mind, body, and spirit in harmony with one another.  At River Holistic Centre, you will hear us talk about holistic Health as an ongoing process – as a lifestyle, consisting of a personal commitment from you to be in continuous movement toward the “best end” of the wellness continuum.  This is the ethos which guides us here at River Holistic Centre, an oasis in one of Dublin’s oldest villages in its own harmony with the ebb and flow of commuter land.

River Holistic Centre offers a comprehensive array of Holistic Health treatments.  Our practitioners can cater for all of your Holistic Health needs.

We exist to provide the highest standards of care to all of our clients.  Personalised treatments are focused on getting you to the best of what you can achieve at any one time on the continuum of managing your well-being.

We offer therapies which include massage, osteopathy, chiropractic, Nutritional guidance, Reflexology, and Homeopathy.  We also offer Psychotherapy, Acupuncture, Pain Management treatments, Alternative and Complementary fertility and pregnancy treatments.

Have a herbal Detox this spring

Have a herbal detox this spring.

Feel like a deep spring clean of your body?

Cleavers (Galium aparine) could really help you. You might know this innocent looking plant as sticky-back, goosegrass or catchweed. All of these names are fitting, as it sticks to your clothes when you walk through long grass. Remember it now?

Cleavers helps the body to eliminate uric acid and it cleanses the lymph glands, reducing inflammation and detoxing as it goes, and in this way it has many knock-on benefits for the body. This amazing little plant may even be growing in your back garden.

Why not try a bit of DIY cleansing this spring? This is one of the few plants that does not need to be infused in hot water or extracted in alcohol. Clean (filtered or distilled), cold water is all you need.

  1. Source this plant growing in a clean environment away from roads and free from any sprays (April-May is the best time, before it has begun to flower)
  2. Pick a generous amount of leaves and stem
  3. Macerate it so that the outer layer has been broken
  4. Put it in a pot and cover with water, and put the lid on
  5. Leave in the fridge or cool place overnight
  6. Strain it the next day
  7. Drink a glass of this liquid three times a day for five days every few weeks in  spring to give your body a boost
