Hatha Yoga with Aideen Schweppe

Hatha Yoga is one of the original styles of Yoga from which other styles and forms developed. It includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body and was originally designed to prepare the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation.
Hatha is a popular yoga choice in today’s wellbeing and fitness communities and is very relevant in today’s modern world of physical, emotional and environmental stresses and strains.

Learn to listen to and work with your body, improving flexibility, strength and balance, while working with breathing and relaxation techniques to help quiet the mind.

With regular practice Yoga can help to:

  • Improve posture
  • Improve muscle tone and strength
  • Improve flexibility
  • Prevent sports injuries
  • Recover from sports injuries
  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Improve quality of sleep

This will be a truly holistic class. In addition to the Yoga postures and breathing techniques I will also incorporate some tips on healthy eating, techniques for dealing with stress, using affirmations in your daily life, and each class will end with some form of meditation.
