Clinical Dietitian

Linda qualified as a Clinical Dietitian from Kevin Street DIT and Trinity College Dublin in 1996. She ran clinics initially from home in Raheny and then in Glanmire and Blackrock in Cork where she lived until recently returning to Dublin.

A dietetic consultation involves discussing a client’s diet and lifestyle history – essentially what you eat and drink on a daily basis, taking into account your regular lifestyle pattern – work, rest and other activities. It’s often very useful to keep a food diary (noting down everything you eat and drink over 3-5 days) to give a more accurate snapshot of your eating habits.

A dietitian can then advise you how to adjust your eating habits, if you’re ready to do so, to help manage your condition, ensure your diet is balanced and improve your health and wellbeing in an holistic way. This advice is specifically tailored to you and your lifestyle.

There are many conditions that can benefit from therapeutic dietary advice. Some of these include diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, irritable bowel symptoms, coeliac, obesity and many others.

Family health can also hugely benefit from a dietetic consultation. Linda has four young children and as such is very familiar with the challenges of providing a well-balanced, healthy diet for kids (and adults!) today. Through discussing family meals and habits you may discover easy ways of improving, for example, calcium, iron and fibre intake for the whole family.

You can contact Linda on 087 2631954 if you would like to book a consultation or have a chat about what might be involved.

Linda is a member of the Irish Nutritional and Dietetic Institute, the professional body for clinical dietitians/nutritionists in Ireland.
