5 easy and effective ways to know your most fertile days in the month

 

If you’re trying to conceive, knowing when you are most fertile during the month is something all women should know.

I have spent a lot of time studying the best times to get pregnant. I’ve also experienced how other women feel when we want to conceive but have to wait for their little miracle to finally arrive. One of the things that helped me manage my anxiety and wait for nature to take its course was to study my own body. With these methods, you’ll understand your body’s signs.

According to the experts, here’s how to know when you are the most fertile:

  1. Counting the days

Periods are usually repeated every 28 days. On the first day of your period, you’ll notice a significant blood flow, not just a few drops. It is important that you understand when your period actually starts because you may start counting the days too early, which could mean missing your fertility window.

In a 28-day cycle, your most fertile days are days 12, 13 and 14. Remember, the ‘fertile window’ is the six days leading up to and including ovulation, experts at Your Fertility point out.

Your body will presumably release the mature egg on the 14th day of your cycle, however, there are exceptions to this rule. Your body can ovulate twice in a month or it can ovulate much earlier or much later. Figuring out your individual cycle will help you know when your fertility window is.

  1. Change in vaginal discharge

Paying attention to changes in vaginal discharge is one of the most accurate ways to know if you’re at a fertile time of the month.

According to the American Pregnancy Association, as you approach ovulation, your body starts to produce more estrogen, which also produces a more fertile mucus. Just before the estrogen reaches its peak, your flow will look like a transparent and viscous substance (like an egg white). This is the most fertile flow, and the one that tells you that your body is about to release the egg.

  1. Basal temperature

According to WebMD, the temperature of your body rises slightly as the egg is released. Tracking your temperature (known as your basal body temperature) can help you know when your most fertile days.

Take your temperature with a thermometer under your armpit every morning before getting out of bed, then write it down on a chart every day so you know when it rises. It’s recommended that you do this every day for several months so you can find out when ovulation will occur.

  1. Using tests to detect ovulation

You can buy these tests at any pharmacy or large supermarket. They are one of the most accurate methods, but are also more expensive. Ovulation tests work by analyzing and measuring the amount of the luteinizing hormone (HL) in the urine. This hormone rises between 24 and 36 hours before ovulation occurs, giving you a head’s up to when your fertility window is approaching.  These kits come with several tests so you can get tested several days before you think you are going to ovulate.

  1. A pain in one of the ovaries

That little pain that you feel in the middle of your cycle can indicate that ovulation has already occurred. If you wait until this moment, chances are you will not get pregnant because your “fertile window” has already closed.

Remember:

Specialists recommend having intimacy at least every other day, especially in the days before ovulation. Your “most fertile window” is just before you ovulate, not the day you ovulated or after. While you may get pregnant if you have intimacy the day you ovulate, your chances increase if you do it earlier. Hopefully these tips can help you get to know your body better and help you and your partner expect your own bundle of joy sooner!

Whether you’re scared of change, success or failure… it’s worth remembering that fear is a universal experience.

The problem is that most people see fear as a sign of weakness.

Yet it’s a natural human response to pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone and trying something new (as well, of course, if your life is in danger and you’re being chased by a predator… even if you’re thinking of being chased by a predator).

There’s a belief that when you’re confident, fear will go away, However that isn’t the case.

It’s simply that your relationship with fear changes so you can handle it better.

Whenever I start a new project, teach a new group, or even sometimes when I’m seeing a new client for the first time, fear raises its head.

My fear says things like ‘Be careful… don’t go putting yourself out there! What if people don’t like what you have to say?’ or ‘Be careful… what if you can’t help this person? Maybe you’ll fail this time…’.

I tell my fear ‘Not Now!’ and return my focus back to my task.

If you’re feeling fear while you’re taking the action, use it to your advantage.

Fear can actually heighten performance as you’re more alert and focused – provided you claim power over your thoughts and drive the energy to where you need it most (not to running away and hiding from what scares you).

The antidote to fear is to see it for what it is, to recognise and acknowledge it – and move on in spite of it.

Because if you don’t take action, your fear increases and keeps you even more stuck.

So, if there’s something you want to do that you’re being held back by from fear, know that the fear will subside once you’ve taken action.

If you don’t fancy another few months of antibiotics and cough medicines, why not try some of the following Homeopathic remedies:

Colds and Flu

Aconite 30c – No. 1 Remedy for nipping colds in the bud. Useful in the early stages of colds, fevers, sore throats and the inflammatory stage of other illnesses. Sudden onset often after exposure to cold. Much sneezing with pain at root of nose. Dry mucous membranes. Worse: evening or night and for touch. Better: fresh air and rest.

Arsenicum Alb 30c. – Catches cold easily, burning, watery nasal discharge alternating with dryness. Frequent sneezing without relief. Very chilly and shivery. Nostrils become sore and red and nose feels blocked alternating with watery discharge. Worse: change of temperature, cold, damp and after midnight. Better: heat and warm applications, hot drinks.

Euphrasia 30c Profuse bland nasal discharge, running red eyes with burning tears and frequent sneezing. Burning sore throat and eyes sensitive to light. Worse: light, in the evening. Better: during the day when up and about.

Eupatorium perf.30c – Chill followed by heat and sweating. Intense aching of bones as if broken or bruised. Great thirst for cold drinks. Worse: movement, cold, open air. Better; Resting, warmth, sweating.

Gelsemium 30c – No 1 remedy for flu. Dull, sluggish with heavy looking eyes and dull headache usually at the back of the neck. Chills and shivering up and down the spine. Aching muscles in limbs and back. Burning throat. Colds and flu usually comes on gradually. Worse cold, damp weather. Better: after urination.

Pulsatilla 30c Chilliness even in a warm room, nasal catarrh, bland and thick. Dry mouth with no thirst. Painful headache with changing, shifting symptoms. Worse in a warm room, after lying down. Better: in the open air.

Rhus Tox 30c – Very restless with aching in all muscles and stiffness. Just cannot get comfortable. Heat alternating with chills, pain in head and eyes with red face. Worse: night, first movement. Better: warmth

COUGHS

Aconite 30c- Sudden onset often after exposure to cold air. Dry croupy cough with runny nose and sneezing. Irritation of respiratory tract, hoarseness/dryness of throat. Worse: cold dry winds, talking and deep breathing. Better: lying on back.

Ant Tart 30c – Noisy, rattling, loose cough as if chest full of mucus. Young children or elderly with cough too weak to expel the mucus. Worse: night, especially from 10 pm until after midnight, lying flat, eating. Better sitting up and after expectoration

Bryonia 30c – Dry hacking cough in the evening and night without sputum. Spasmodic cough shaking the whole body, pain in the head an abdomen from coughing, better for holding the painful part. Dryness of all air passages with thirst. Worse: movement, deep breathing, lying in bed. Better: fresh air and for pressure of painful part.

Drosera 30c – Spasmodic, dry irritating coughs like whooping cough. Barking cough which is dry in the evening and loose in the morning. Sputum is yellow/green, bitter or offensive, bloody or pus like. Retching after spasmodic cough. Worse: after midnight, lying down, singing, laughing and drinking. Better: holding chest.

Spongia 30c – Barking, dry croupy cough with wheezing and rasping. Great dryness of all air passages. Scanty expectoration tasting salty, looser in the morning but no mucous rattle in the chest. Cough sounds like a saw being driven through a pine board. Sensation as if had to breath through a dry sponge. Worse: warm room, talking before midnight. Better: swallowing, especially warm drinks, sitting up and bending forward.

3 Easy but effective exercises to de-stress at your desk in under a minute.

 

Below are ways to alleviate anxiety at work—all of which are inconspicuous enough to do at your desk when you need to take a quick mindfulness break.

1. Just breathe

Just sit up tall in your desk chair and focus on your breath, counting every exhale from 1–10. When you get to 10, start over. Repeat 6 times.

2. Give yourself a reboot

Sometimes the key to reducing stress is performing a personal restart. “It’s like turning your computer off and on again.” Staring at a screen all day is tough on your eyes (and the visual processing centers of your brain). Covering them with your hands can alleviate the physical strain.

Sit with your spine tall in your chair and your shoulders melting down your back. Then close your lids and bring the heels of your palms to your eye sockets, applying gentle pressure.

“We spend most of our day reacting to things that are outside of us, especially at work. Taking a moment to put your hands over your eyes can help you get quiet enough to hear some insight,”

 

3. Reach for the sky

The simple act of raising your arms above your head is great for reducing tension. Just stand with your feet at hip distance and raise your arms straight out in front of you. Next, interlace your fingers and turn your palms out. Then raise your arms until your palms face the ceiling. Lift your shoulders to your ears, and let them drop down so your neck is long. Finally, lift your ribs and spine off your pelvis so that you reach your tallest height and stay in that pose for three breaths.

“If you’re holding your breath or breathing shallowly, you’re perpetuating the stress response. [By taking] bigger inhales, you get more oxygen, which is energizing,”  And yes, this works if you’re sitting at your desk—so no need to track down an empty conference room (consider it one less thing to worry about).

Hello,

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter and enjoyed the chocolate feast. If you need some detox and relaxation, you know where we are. We have so much on this April & May, I’m bursting to tell you.

It’s exam season coming up, which can be a pressurised time for both those taking exams and family members supporting them! We know, it’s like you are taking the exams too! We have lots of support to offer during much needed rest breaks, from message, reiki, reflexology to acupuncture. All available to nurture your body and soul and have you bouncing back to the study desk.

To our wonderful clients who made March a joy to be holistic therapists, we look forward to welcoming you back in April. To those who have yet to visit us, we look forward to welcoming you to your new holistic home.

What Is Reflexology?

A therapy based on the theory that areas on the feet and hands are linked to other areas and organs of the body. Reflexology is used to treat symptoms in many parts of your body by using fingertip pressure on specific areas on your feet primarily, and sometimes on your hands as well. The idea is that this pressure allows blocked energy to flow freely, which increases blood flow to the corresponding part of your body and an uptick in the removal of toxic wastes. (Oh, and it feels good, too!)

How Can Reflexology Help During Pregnancy?

Reflexology is often used to soothe the aches and pains in your back and joints that are taking a beating from your growing bump. But that’s not all. Reflexology can also give you relief from some of your most persistent and wide-ranging woes. These may include morning sickness, heartburn, swelling in your legs (if not due to Pre-eclampsia), constipation, high blood pressure (again, as long as it appears without the other symptoms of pre-eclampsia), insomnia, bladder problems, mild cramping, and even haemorrhoids. In addition, reflexology may reduce emotional stresses, such as depression and anxiety. Reflexology may even be helpful after you give birth — some studies show it stimulates milk production.

For more than 5000 years, China and India practice foot reading. People in these countries believe the feet act as a mirror to the rest of the body.

If there are any lumps, calluses or pain in the feet, they indicate problems elsewhere. For instance, the arches are linked to the spine, meaning a fallen arch indicates a back problem. Also, it is believed the mind and body are linked and physical problems can be caused by personality.

But is it true?

Jane Sheehan, a reflexologist is certain that feet show everything about people, from their digestive system function and even the state of their relationships. By looking at your feet you can see if you are a wild and adventurous person, or desire stability, order and harmony in life.

BIG TOE

People whose big toe is much longer that other toes are smart and creative. They always have a clever solution to the problems. These people see things from different perspectives, but also they may have troubles focusing and don’t see projects through.

On the other side, if your big toe is small, it means that you can do many things at the same moment.
You delegate effectively and are efficient. You use your charisma to influence others with your ideas.

SECOND TOE

People with long second toe are qualitative leaders. They are dynamic and creative, and can be bossy. However, people with smaller second toe are not a pushover, but it means they desire harmony. It is also believed that those, who have a bigger second toe have a tendency to have an upper hand in their relationship and marriage; dominance comes naturally to them.

THIRD TOE

If the third toe is relatively long, it means those people are energetic and ingenious, particularly at work. These people look for perfection and can achieve much with determination and energy. The negative thing is that their work can make them forget about love, family and fun. Moreover, people with short third toe enjoy life. They like to relax and not get worked up.

FOURTH TOE

People having long, straight fourth toe tells their family is important to them. If this toe is curled, it means you have an unhappy relationship with loved ones. These people are excellent listeners and nurturers, but will be unhappy within the family. Also, it is hard for them to cut themselves off from other people’s problems. You need to relax and don’t worry about other people’s problems. People with short fourth toe focus elsewhere and family and relationships are not that important to them.

LITTLE TOE

People with small little toes have childlike behavior. They don’t like responsibilities and can be easily bored. Thus, they look for fun distractions. Also, these people are fun, easy-going and witty. People who can wiggle their little toe separately from their fourth toe, they are impulsive, adventurous and charming. People who can’t wiggle their little toe, like routine, predictability and loyalty.

TOES THAT ARE NEATLY GRADUATE IN SIZE

If each of your toes is longer than the one before, creating a neat line, it means you are a methodical, precise and practical. You always complete what you start. Besides being a perfect employee, you are a good and loyal friend too.

WIDE FEET

People with wide feet have solid worker feet and are always on the go. They’re happiest when they are busy, but also they should try to make time for reflection, and a little peace and calm in their life.

LONG NARROW FEET

These people like to be spoiled. They don’t want to bother with all the hard work if someone else can finish the work for them. Moreover, they’ve got a strong aesthetic sense and need beauty around them. These people’s homes will be wonderful, no matter their income.
